Rhythms uniform

We now have a uniform which isn’t compulsory but is recommended. It is only available to order from myself and delivery takes between 8 to 10 weeks. Dancers can team the uniform with leggings, leotard, crop top etc as long as it is PLAIN black. If children don't wish to wear the new uniform, they can wear the uniform listed below, uniform should be worn for all lessons. For examinations the uniform listed below is compulsory and is available from a number of local dancewear shops and on-line retailers.

For class hair must be tied back, clothes should be freshly laundered with dancers arriving in their clothes that they are going to dance in. Dancers should bring to class an individual drinks flask, filled with water. Due to insurance, the correct footwear for the relevant genre of dance must be adhered to and worn – no wearing just socks!

Preparatory, Primary and Grade 1 Ballet  

Black Capezio Double Strap Camisole Leotard (or equivalent), with separate black chiffon skirt- (for exams) i will order, please let me know if you need one. White ballet socks for prep and primary, Grade 1 pink seamless ballet tights. Pink canvas split soled ballet shoes with crossed elastics. The ballet shoes that I prefer are So Danca SD16 in pink. Hair in a low bun with centre parting.  Black bow in hair (for exam) - i will order, please let me know if you need one. Hair tied back for class.

Ballet wear – Grade 2 upwards

Black Capezio Double Strap Camisole Leotard, pink ballet tights - no seam and pink canvas split soled ballet shoes with crossed elastics. The ballet shoes that I prefer are So Danca SD16 in pink. An acceptable alternative is Capezio Juliet Canvas Ballet shoe, if a larger size is required, then Capezio Hanami Pink Stretch Ballet Shoe. Ballet shoes must be spotlessly clean or new for exams. Grades 4 and Classical Award 1 will wear the black chiffon wrap around skirt, from Amazon, that they wore in the show in 2022. Hair is in an exceedingly neat low bun with a centre parting for examinations and tied back for class. For exams, Grades 2 - 5 will wear a black scrunchy bobble – I do have a few. Classical Award 1 and 2 will wear a flower band – I have these.

Acro, Modern, Theatre Craft (Grade 1 upwards) & Tap Wear (Grade 1 upwards and Medals)

Black Capezio Double Strap Camisole Leotard and black Silky Convertible 60 Denier ballet tights, bare feet for modern. For Tap, no socks or a low black trainer sock, tap shoes with both toe and heel taps with black bows in for exams – ribbon will be available to purchase from dancing class. For Theatre Craft, Move Dance Minelli Character Shoe 2” in black – I can order these if you wish.

Hair low bun with centre parting for examination, Black bow for examinations for younger grades, black scrunchy bobble for higher grades. Hair tied back for class.

Prep Tap

Black Capezio Double Strap Camisole Leotard (or equivalent), with separate black circular cotton lycra skirt- i will order, please let me know if you need one. White ballet socks, black tap shoes – preferably the sparkly ones, but don’t worry if they aren’t, they will be fine. with black ribbon bows - i will order the ribbon. Hair in a low bun with a centre parting.  Black bow in hair - i will order, please let me know if you need one ordering.
